Two are better than one...

Michael and Holly met on mission in Nepal. They both were focused on seeking to build the Kingdom of God among the poor and unreached. As they shared the gospel from village to village and worshiped in the mountains they saw each others single-minded passion and love for the Lord. As they began to share their hearts they saw how the Lord purposed to bring them together as man and wife to further bring Him glory.

Background

Bir Tamang and his wife dedicated their first born son to the Lord, wholly to the Lord for fulltime ministry. Michael Tamang was born in Pokhara, a beautiful city in the foothills of the Himalayas. He grew up in a small village called Gorkha. As a young boy, Michael picked up a stick and pretended to play a guitar. His uncle decided to tie a string around the stick so he could pluck the strings.

Holly Liedstrand was born half a world away in Washington state - America. Growing up her family moved from state to state, Washington to California to Arizona to Nevada to Colorado and then when she was 12 years old she got her first taste of living outside America. Her father, an engineer, was transfered to Santiago, Chile to help build a copper mine. This opened up oportunities to travel to Israel. As a thirteen year old, she was fascinated with this ancient land that brought her childhood Bible stories alive. She started reading the Bible more and more. A few days after her fourteenth birthday she sat in a rocking chair in her livingroom and prayed through Psalm 119. She gave her whole heart over to the Lord. Not only was she saved from death and hell, but Jesus was now Lord of her life.

Michael was also around thirteen when he gave his heart to the Lord at a youth camp and walked away

feeling a new peace. Opportunity opened for him to play the guitar and lead worship at his church. The

Lord has given him a special musical talent and a heart that beats for worship. Michael desires to use this

gift to engourage the church to pursue the heart of God as well as to share the Good News with the lost and

broken-hearted of the world. A few years ago opportunity opened for him to attend a school of worship in

Denmark. Recently he served in Brazil with YWAM (Youth With Mission). For the past eight years he has

been invovled with Himalayan Rock for Christ, a well known Nepali worship band. They are currently

recording a worship album that will be released June 2014.

Holly began reading books about missions and soon felt called to fulltime ministry not just in America but

perhaps in Africa or Asia. One of her passions was reading the Word of God, praying and worshiping the

Lord. God put it in her heart that perhaps someday she would marry someone passionate about worship.

She prayed and asked the Lord that He would be her first love and that she would only be in one relationship.

She wanted to wait for the right guy that God had for her. Little did she know she would have to wait many

years . . . she was 27 years old and thought it was time to start asking friends and family to pray that God

would provide her a partner and best friend in ministry. She had finally come to a time in her life where she was so content to be single but also believed that a partner in ministry would be good. She believed the very moment God wanted the right guy in her life, he would be there. God would surely orchestrate every detail and indeed He has. Going to Nepal this past year she never guessed she would meet her husband.
